The Diego’s are a family of Garifuna descent making a life in Belize City, Belize. Matriarch Granny Tomasa helps her niece Margret to raise her family who runs a small cook shop in front of the house. Lisani works after school as a hairdresser and has dreams of going to college. Randy is a rapper-wannabe who writes a song about finding his father. Sparks fly when Steve Castillo returns home after 18 years in the US. He meets Lisani and finds he has a long hidden connection with the Diego family.
